What's your business, and who are your customers?
My focus is on developing the next generation of leaders. I help organizations develop their current and future leaders to lead with vision, passion, and purpose. To develop leaders who truly care about the success of their people and to positively impact their clients, customers, and team members.
Tell us about yourself
As a leader in a large organization, I saw a widening gap between those who were ready and prepared for leadership and the future needs of the organization. As a result, we developed a leadership program to begin to create greater leadership capacity within our team. After three years, I retired from that organization and now consult with businesses, non-profits, and school districts to assist them in developing their leadership team and organizations.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
The biggest accomplishment I have as a business owner is seeing the success of those I coach and teach. It is in the application of the concepts, their personal and professional growth, and seeing improvements in their leadership that I feel are the biggest accomplishments.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The hard things are in the daily efforts to continue to do the business development in order to increase the customer base for leadership development services.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Know your core values.
- Know what you are good at and enjoy doing.
- Stay focused on the main thing you do well.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
Leadership development is an ongoing process. It is something that you can increase your capacity and develop intentionally. An experienced leadership coach can be a great asset to you. Even the top professionals in their fields have coaches who help them improve on the great talent they already have. Coaching is a way to further develop your leadership.
