Gratitude and Abundance - Icaro Silveira
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Icaro Silveira, founder of icaro tarot, located in Boca Raton, FL, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
I consider myself a tarotpist. I use tarot as a tool to tap into the energy of individual people, and also the collective to pull information and advice unique to each reading.
Tarot is such a mystic tool, and my mission is to demystify the tarot. To show people that it can be used every day, especially for self-development. Tarot shows us where we are blocked, what we're not quite seeing or not quite aware of.
I'm not here, and tarot is not here to tell you when you'll get married or get that dream job. Tarot and I are here to tell you how what, and where you can shift in order to achieve your dreams. Tarot shows the way to make your dreams possible. All it asks is belief and action.
Tell us about yourself
I'm Icaro, the Tarotpist. I love art, and I got enamored with how art can evoke feelings and memories within us. Taking back a bit, I was not in a good place mentally and needed some tool to help me move forward in life. Therapy was not available for me at the time, and that's when I stumbled upon tarot, or perhaps tarot found me. Seeing this incredible tool and playing with it a bit, my curiosity was instantly peaked. I wanted to know more. I wanted to read and learn and expand my knowledge on the tarot because I was seeing a glimpse of how tarot can be a useful tool for self-improvement and development. A tool for self-discovery and courage.
At first, I would read only for friends because I could "mess up," and they wouldn't mind. As I kept reading and improving, things that I would say started making too much sense to the ones I was reading for. Plus, it went along with my interest in self-care and psychology. The more people would tell me that what I was saying was resonating with them, the more I wanted to explore tarot and how it can be used to help people truly. Not the tarot showed in movies and tv shows, but actual tangible improvements and advice for people.
People are what continue to motivate me. Wanting to connect and hear their story. Tarot showed me that people truly just want to be heard and understood. I would start reading for someone; in the first few cards, I would say something that resonated; they would interrupt me and just go off on telling me their story, on what they're going through. They needed a safe space to let out what they had been bottling up for a while, and tarot was that space.
And now, with The Tarotpist Podcast, many of these stories are being shared, including my own. The Tarotpist Podcast is a space where we discuss the many facets of spirituality and tarot and how it has affected people on their healing journey.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I truly love what I do. Tarot and spirituality are a great playground for a creative like me. Spirituality and tarot are as diverse as people on Earth, and I wish to connect with as many people as possible. The Tarotpist Podcast is my newest accomplishment. I got the idea and am running with it with passion. I also have my Rainbow Temple on Patreon. A community where we get to learn and explore spirituality without the trolls and the diluted gurus of social media. And finally, I have my Icaro Tarot YouTube channel, where I post meditations, weekly tarot updates, and deck reviews.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Being an entrepreneur comes with its own set of triumphs and challenges. You are the driver as a business owner. You're the creative and the creator, and that's such an incredible feeling. However, everything falls on you. The fear of failure and of being lost in the crowd is a constant presence. The way I silence those voices is by moving forward, by working on my passion and projects that I truly believe in. Money is great, but it starts becoming more about the sense of accomplishment and how far I can take myself.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Whatever you are passionate about, just do it, but know that you'll suck at it at first. And that's the beauty of it. We look up to people and think, "How did they do it?" and, "If they can do it, so can I," which is absolutely true. Those people you admire did not start out great. They started exactly where you are right now, on the ground floor. They learned, grew, hustled, and persevered to get to where they are now.
Believe in yourself more because, trust me, even those on the top also doubt themselves. They use doubt to improve and grow, not to self-destruct, but to self-construct.
