Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Lynne Wadsworth, founder of Holistic Health & Wellness, LLC., located in Valrico, FL, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am a certified holistic health & wellness practitioner helping women navigate the challenges of creating a healthy lifestyle, especially in midlife, so that they can take on their day more confidently, feel fully energized, and find more balance in mind~body~soul and add joy to their lives. As we reach midlife, we're often confronted with wondering what our life is all about, and I love to help women realize their potential as they continue on their journey through life.
Tell us about yourself
Having been a yo-yo dieter and sugar addict for many years (leading to anorexia), all this led to high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and severe migraines. I was constantly miserable and hated how I looked and felt (even at my lowest weight). I finally felt enough was enough, and there had to be a better way, so I found a way for a transformation and education that led me to this profession.
My personal experience helped me gain insight to be able to more fully help my clients (without judgment) change their lives one step at a time. My passion and desire are to help women experience optimal health, lose weight, and feel healthy, energized, and rejuvenated. Having had a "nightmare journey" through menopause, I have now gained insight and education to help others who are finding it difficult to deal with this midlife phase. But I now firmly believe that life is not over just because you have reached a certain phase in life. In fact, it can be fun, joyful, and fulfilling.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I have helped hundreds of people transform their lives and become a healthier version of themselves that's sustainable. I have also received several awards along the way and have been featured in several magazines.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
No one prepares you in school that being an entrepreneur involves so many pieces (e.g., marketing, sales, social media, technology). It was a very hard transition for me to learn all the elements that go into building a business.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Find someone experienced and well-versed in your field to coach you along the way.
- Make sure you take care of yourself and don't get sucked into the "busy work." We all need to take time to have that "me" time.
- Always be working on your mindset. If we have a positive outlook, we can face the day and the challenges more easily.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
I also have my podcast, "Living Life Naturally," which is all about health and wellness (mostly for women). I have published about 110 episodes to date.
