What's your business, and who are your customers?

Holifit By Lauren is all about teaching people the essential tools to be proud of their healthy bodies, regardless of their shape and size, achieve health, fitness, and lifestyle goals, and live their happiest, healthiest lives.

My customers are anyone that would love to take things back to basics again, educate themselves on simple yet effective nutrition, lifestyle, and personal development/ positive behaviour + habit change, and get long-lasting results instead of restrictive or unsustainable practices.

Tell us about yourself

Growing up, I used to struggle with digestive issues, chronic illnesses, and significant weight fluctuations, which initially led me down a path of researching and studying everything about health, fitness, and nutrition. After years of experimenting with my body, I've tried nearly every diet under the sun, from Paleo, Ketogenic, and Anti-Candida to Vegan, Whole30, and Intermittent Fasting.

Fitness regimes from endurance training or CrossFit to bodybuilding or obstacle course training. Although this was all exciting, I also struggled to achieve the body that everything around me told me was the body I should have. I knew how to write myself programs that would make me lose a lot of weight, and I did this many times, and it did get me thin.

I also have been ripped with muscle, made myself very strong, and built my stamina. I did it all, but I wasn't happy. I was doing it for other people and the wrong reasons. All I wanted was to feel good in my body, enjoy physical activity, have fun, and be healthy, and it took me some time to realize this. I learned that it doesn't matter which diet you choose to follow or what exercise you do!

So that is what made me want to teach what made me accessible, what made me proud, what made me happy, what made me fit, what made me healthy and what made my body a temple in the way that I feel the most comfortable the proudest.

  • Only enjoyment and fun.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Creating programs that help people live their healthiest and happiest lives without stress, restriction, or breaking the bank. I like to see my clients and potential clients as past versions of me - So I want to be the library of information I didn't have years ago.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Self-motivation and accountability, haha I love what I do but am very externally motivated.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Become aware of the things you're naturally passionate about or interested in with little effort. I feel this is a clue to where you could build your business from.
  2. Start writing down ideas, plans, budgets, small to big goals, target markets, etc. Pen to paper is mighty, and once you get excited about a small project, you'll be surprised at how ideas and plans will start pouring out and building with momentum and direction to follow.
  3. Don't wait until something is perfect before starting. There is no such thing. Start, and you'll get better/clearer/more professional, etc., with time.
