What's your business, and who are your customers?
The name of my business is Hierbitas by Sandra. I create beautiful fresh eucalyptus shower bundles and other aromatherapy natural products. My customers are those that look into nature for healing and their overall well-being.
Tell us about yourself
I started my business because I believe in the power of natural healing and the wonderful things that our Mother Earth provides. And if we study, respect, and comprehend how it works, beautiful things will happen within us. What motivates me each day is knowing that what I am doing is helping others heal naturally. Bringing awareness and education about natural healing so people can make better decisions for themselves and their families.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
One of my biggest accomplishments as a business owner is definitely learning how to run a business. With a background in education, I had zero knowledge of how to run a business. I knew the very basics but nothing extensive. I have learned so much in the past year, and I know I still have so much more to learn. I trust and believe in the process.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner is learning how to juggle and balance personal/business life. Learning to block schedule things so we are always fully present, whether it's with family or business.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
There are so many tips to give, but my top tips would be:
- Connect with your customers. Now more than ever, we need human connections.
- Be true to yourself. Be you. Be authentic.
- Take chances. Don't overthink things. Go with what feels right to you.
- Find balance. Too much of one thing is not good...even if it's a good thing.
- Surround yourself with people who align with your vision.
