Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Nikki Oluseye, CEO of Here For Wives, located in Acworth, GA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Here For Wives transforms the relationships of Executive wives and helps them bring more passion into their marriage through self-love and self-care. I embody and show women how to live out their God-designed purpose and transform their passionless marriages into one that is flourishing, creating a surefire connection between them and their partners.

Tell us about yourself

I have been married for over 24 years. One day earlier in my marriage, I looked up and realized that my husband and I were simply living as roommates. My children were unhappy, and I was tired, overwhelmed, and irritable. After going through a process of personal enrichment, I turned my marriage from passionless to flourishing. As the creator of Here For Wives™, a joint effort with wives and marriage that centers on emotional, spiritual, financial, physical, and family values.

Seeing marriages in varying stages of trials, my mission through Here For Wives™ is to honor, support, and empower wives to live out the God-designed purpose for their marriage. My goal is to help wives stay focused and centered against all odds, maintain order in the home even when inadvertently occupying the role of spiritual leader, faithfully manage the resources she has been given, cultivate a culture of unselfish 'self-care,' and diligently and meticulously pour into her children. Today, I help women who have been married for as little as two years and above increase the passion in their marriage and take it to the height of flourishing.

In addition to speaking life into marriages, I am the Owner/Creative Designer of Velvet Queen Shapewear™, a lingerie brand with shaping in it to heighten, titillate and elevate the status level of the women who wear it. I live in Atlanta with my husband of over 24 years and two children.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner has unquestionably been the joy, relief, and gratitude I see on the faces of the wives whose marriages were on the brink of divorce but have now been transformed with their homes now intact the way God designed them. To see her glow and stand in the confidence and knowledge of who she is and why she was created, thus understanding her value in her marriage, is absolutely priceless. This happens all the time and makes me grateful that the experience I went through was not in vain but that others are benefiting from it and can likewise pay it forward. It's not an easy walk, and it takes being vulnerable, but the results make it all worth it.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Because I love what I do, it does not seem like work, so I tend to take on more than I should. Earlier on, it took me away from my family, and I didn't spend as much time as I needed to with them. Even when I was with them, I was not fully present, always thinking of the next Queen that I needed to support. I was at the point of burnout and almost stepped away from it all if not for the passion I still had. If I was going to survive, I had to change the way I did business very quickly. I created systems that didn't require me to be involved at all times in every part of the business.

I outsourced things that I did well, but I knew someone else could do better ( I let go of my ego!). I asked for help when I needed it. With all those systems in place, I was freed up to be fully present to serve those I had been called to, and the end result has been my ability to spend more quality time with my family and, believe it or not, still serve more of my clients than I could ever have felt possible.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Do something that you are passionate about. This passion is what will keep you going when things are not lining up. It's that secret sauce that won't let you quit even when others are telling you to because they don't see the end as you do.
  2. Do your research! There are a lot of resources out there today, more than we can handle, so you should never get into any business or tie down any money without understanding what you want to spend, how much you have to spend, where you will get the money from and who your support system is. This may seem simplistic, but it will save you a lot of stress, in the long run to meticulously do your due diligence ahead of time. You will learn a lot about what you want and what you don't want.
  3. Go for it! You have prayed and asked the father to guide and direct your path, and He is answering by bringing you resources, ideas, and opportunities. All you have to do is trust Him and launch out into the deep; he will be there with a net full of fish, just for you...simply stay the course!

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Before a seed can grow, it must first die! Without the seed dying, there cannot be any new life brought forward. On our journey through life, we must die many "mini-deaths" along the way. We must daily die to old ways of being, old beliefs that no longer serve us, and old paradigms that keep us bound. Each time we die to that old self, we are reborn in our new power.

Don't resist this rebirth! This process is imperative and your only way forward towards a better, more glorious you with more fulfilling relationships.

Daily seek the father and ask Him to show you the areas in your life that need to be buried and freely release them. Then ask Him for the grace to allow the beautiful, most precious you to unfold like a rose. There is so much to you, much more than you even realize. The new you is yearning to emerge.

It's time to flourish, Queen!
