What's your business, and who are your customers?
I run an apparel and accessory business that is healthcare-inspired and geared towards nurses and other healthcare providers.
Tell us about yourself
I'm an ER nurse who started a business during the pandemic making candles and stickers! I am very passionate about my art and wanted to share more in my business, so I rebranded and created Her Crescent and Co. I began designing apparel and selling my art as stickers! My small business grows every day, and it inspires me to keep pushing forward despite the challenges I've faced as a small business owner and artist.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment would be getting to where I am today. I started in a small unfinished basement in my parent's house and have moved my business into a larger space. I'm currently looking to move to an even larger space in the near future!!
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Definitely, something difficult that comes with being a business owner is having other small businesses use your creations. It happened to me on multiple occasions, and it's difficult to see recreations of your hard work. Another difficulty would be being a one-man show. When you run a small business, you run every aspect, and it can feel very overwhelming at times.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
The top 3 tips would be to stay consistent, stay true to yourself, and forgive yourself for not being perfect but still showing up!!!
