What's your business, and who are your customers?
We are a cozy shop that serves fresh homemade products. Our specialty is gourmet cupcakes. We serve Havre and the surrounding communities.
Tell us about yourself
A bakery was a dream of my Mother and myself. After she passed away, I had the opportunity to open Henny Penny Cupcakes. Sharing my love of good food brings me great joy and satisfaction.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I started out as a small cupcake shop and have moved to a larger building and have expanded my menu to include family soup and bread recipes.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The most challenging thing for me is being the sole baker/cook/ decorator. I’ve had to learn to be organized.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Have a business plan in place, learn to delegate responsibilities and listen to your customers and fill their needs.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
Owning your own business is a challenge, and very hard work is involved in creating an experience for your customers. Don’t be afraid to try new things and be prepared to work long hours.
