What's your business, and who are your customers?
Heidi's Piano Studio is a piano studio in Jersey City, NJ. Our teachers plan lessons, establish students' repertoire, program recitals, and help students prepare for exams. We accept students from 4 years old and above.
Tell us about yourself
I have been majoring in Music Composition and Piano Performance since high school. Music is my everything; I started giving piano lessons when I was in college and absolutely loved it. I love sharing my knowledge with the kids; seeing their happy faces when they accomplish their goals is what motivates me every day.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Right now, there are 6 teachers giving lessons in my studio, including me. It all started from a tiny piano room.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The hardest thing is knowing you want to do this and that you're capable of doing it well. It's necessary to be passionate about whatever you do in that industry. Also, you have to be patient during the downtime.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Humility. Integrity. Focus.
