What's your business, and who are your customers?

Heatless Hair is a curling ribbon that curls your hair without heat. Our ribbon is made with 100% silk, which is good for de-frizzing, adding shine, and won't damage your hair the way hot tools would. Our customers range among all ages.

Tell us about yourself

Given my background in beauty, I've always taken such good care of my hair, and I've always loved the idea of being able to style my hair without heat. When I saw a video on TikTok of a woman using a bathrobe tie to curl her hair, it inspired me to create the silk curling ribbon. I'm extremely motivated to help others look good and maintain healthy hair.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is filling the gap and inventing something new in a very competitive and established industry. We were the first to create the silk curling ribbon and opened up something new and healthy in the market.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The unknown of what can happen to the business and the challenges we can face being in such a competitive industry.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Get organized. Write everything down in your notebook, ideas, notes, goals, etc.
  2. Believe in yourself and your product. Don't let anyone make you feel like it's not possible. Just keep focusing on your ultimate goal.
  3. There is never enough time in a day. 8 to 10 hours is not enough time to get things done. Sometimes you might need the full 24. You'll sleep someday. I've definitely had many sleepless nights, but as long as I keep my customers happy, I am happy.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Be ready to get married to your business. My business has become my whole life my best friend and my baby.
