What's your business, and who are your customers?

I bring together the worlds of financial planning, couples therapy, and financial therapy to help couples fully flourish in their shared financial life together. My primary customers are mid-career professionals who have many moving pieces to their money and family dynamics and are looking for solutions that leverage financial planning and couples counseling.

Tell us about yourself

I got started on this work out of a personal need to better understand money at first. It was when I realized there was more to money than just knowing how to invest and budget, but also how I worked and my wife worked as a person that sent me on the further journey to understand counseling psychology.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Serving my clients and watching them learn, heal, and grow their intimate relationships after major financial challenges. When couples learn how to openly communicate about their financial needs, desires, and fears, I then see them go on to be able to make financial decisions that help them flourish together.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things about being a business owner is feeling like you are alone in the journey.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Learn about your attachment style and how that impacts your expectations of yourself and others.
  2. Learn how to manage your cash flow.
  3. Keep honesty and transparency clear in your intimate relationship. Talk about the financial realities of the business.
