What's your business, and who are your customers?
My business name is Health Locator. Our customers are any individual who requires the services of a regulated healthcare professional in Canada for all injuries (physical, mental, emotional, spiritual) close to their home.
Tell us about yourself
I was involved in 3 motor vehicle accidents in 17 months. (1) My son was in a serious near-fatal motorcycle accident. (2) 11 months later, we were both in a serious collision. (3) 5 months after this, my parents were in a car accident. I realize that each day is a precious gift. Many people struggle to find adequate care when they are injured. Bringing regulated health professionals to one location facilitates the care process for everyone.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Getting the Healthcare Associations to support Health Locator. We bring their memberships onto our platform, so it is an issue of trust for them. We have encouraged several to join our platform, and then they refer us to others.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Discouragement about not moving forward at the speed I wish.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Perseverance, grit, and strong work ethic.
