Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Andrew Rosenstock, Founder of Healing With Andrew, located in Boston, MA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My work is about helping people move easier through life. It is about finding the bridge between the material world of matter (bodies  and the world around our bodies) and the metaphysical (mind, thoughts, beliefs, and  how we frame the world we live in.) My customers range from people who have chronic pain, car accident injuries, neurological diseases, and mental diseases such as depression, anxiety, grief, and complex PTSD. Some customers come for spiritual guidance. In a nutshell, people come because of some issue of existence or of being human in this world.

Tell us about yourself

Talking about myself and the path here may take too many lines. Short is, I took yoga training which led to massage training which led to other training, all without much intention. One day I was being flown around the world teaching yoga and bodywork, and I realized this was now my business. What motivates me is to continue to refine myself to be in closer relation to reality as it is and not how I’ve learned it to be as a way to also hold more space and presence for my clients. To meet each individual as an individual and not a syndrome or label of illness. To help people realize their fullest potential. To get to be of service to people and call it to work.. how cool is that?

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I don’t really know how to define accomplishment here. There could be many ways. My accomplishment is just being. Just that I get to do what I love and be of service to people, that’s really it. Anything else is icing and cherries on the cake. But without the cake, there is no place for icing. And I don’t really see the benefit in looking for accomplishments. Suppose they are there,  cool. If not, cool… what’s life showing next? It’s maybe not the normal way to be, and maybe that’s why my work is not normal, and yet my clients tell me it’s more effective. Who knows? Hahaha!

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Everything is on me.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

The first tip would be to listen to any and everything people will say. The second tip is that listening doesn’t mean agreeing. Open ears with good parsing and filtering systems. Third tip. We don’t know what we don’t know. What others know is what they know for their situation and not yours. Statistics have a benefit and a flaw. Be open but not too open and also not too closed.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Practice informs experience. Experience informs beliefs. What informs the practice? Be aware of what we are taking to be before we take to be. There is a load of info in there, and that is where many of the answers lay.
