What's your business, and who are your customers?
Many of our customers are people that know or sense that solutions come from the spirit world and that everything in the universe is vibration. Often they first come to Happy Soul when they feel a longing for something missing in their life. Or they may be energy healers, serious meditators, or they have heard about the magic of crystals and come out of curiosity.
Our mission is to provide the tools to find inspiration, peace, healing, and love. We do that with the products we sell. We sell crystals, jewelry, books, tarot and oracle cards, incense, and candles, but also in other ways. We have compassionate, knowledgeable staff that will spend time explaining crystals and will help customers find the most appropriate crystals and other products.
We also see ourselves as educators. Besides our knowledgeable staff, we have online information and will re-introduce in-house workshops soon. We go to great lengths to find the largest variety of crystals we can and offer the highest quality we can find. My dream is that Toronto becomes a more loving, higher-vibrational city from the light we spread.
Tell us about yourself
When contemplating a new direction in life, I realized what I love doing most is inspiring individuals. I love when a conversation leads someone to acknowledge their passion and can see the opportunities to make an impact on the world in their unique way. I experimented with various modalities, but it was one evening at a friend’s, practicing with tarot cards, that I heard the spirit whisper to me, “Open a store.” By the time I arrived home, I knew that was what I would do and that it would be a crystal store. I left the world of accounting and opened Happy Soul in 2016 and never looked back.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Opening a second store in 2022. It signifies that Happy Soul can have a huge, far-reaching impact by continuing to hold the vision and continuing to search for new ways to assist those interested in a path of light.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Thinking about all the challenges I have, made me think of how difficult it is to keep track of everything. As a business owner, I am involved in customer service, inventory, merchandising, buying, HR, operations, and more. I flip-flop between apps, spreadsheets, and notebooks, to keep track of goals, ideas, planning, to-do lists, due dates, and a million other things.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Just get started. Everything we do gives us new skills, so we are building a suite of expertise that will serve us in future endeavors. Everything is easier the second time you try.
- Appreciate your talents and believe that you are meant to do something special in the world.
- Trust your intuition. Trusting yourself and knowing when to not listen to others will serve you well.
