What's your business, and who are your customers?

Hanna Gotz Studio is all about the bride! The sophisticated, fashion-conscious, and timeless bride. Our goal is to walk with the bride on her journey from her wedding day and beyond.

Our collection is composed of bridal separates that can be styled in unlimited ways. The purpose? To allow each bride the opportunity to really make her own unique look - and then wear it again and again! We also offer an incredible custom experience, which is such an exciting way to be a part of every aspect of the gown, from design to fabric to the day it's worn down the aisle.

On the behind-the-scenes side, each piece is designed with the finest quality materials and made with love by skilled seamstresses from the local community. We also love being able to offer inclusive sizing, something that is very important to us. We are all women working to make something truly special for every bride.

Tell us about yourself

Nothing brings me more joy than seeing a bride have her moment. To see her smile grow wide, or get goosebumps or even dance a little is what keeps me going. A wedding day is such a memorable moment, and I love to be able to be a part of that over and over again.

Originally from the Dominican Republic, I've been in the fashion industry for over 11 years now between Miami and Los Angeles. I never thought I would go into bridal, and then I got engaged. Of course, I couldn't find the perfect dress and so decided to make my own. From there, I began custom making bridal and bridal party gowns for friends and family. Now here we are!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I would say my never-ending passion for what I do. There will always be ups and downs when you own your own business. There are tangible accomplishments, of course, but I do believe that loving what you do is what keeps you pushing forward no matter what.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Getting exposure has been a challenge. In the past, I relied solely on word of mouth. I've now hired a marketing manager and team and am seeing the results. In my experience, having the right people on your team can take your business to the next level.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Find your why and hold on to it. As I mentioned before, owning your own business has wonderful moments as well as difficult ones. If you know why you are doing this, it will keep you going.
  2. Surround yourself with a knowledgeable network and team.
  3. Be prepared to make sacrifices in order to take your business to where you want.
