What's your business, and who are your customers?

I have a photography business in Fargo, North Dakota. I have a broad clientele! Everything from maternity, newborn, engagement, wedding, milestone, and family photos!

Tell us about yourself

I began my photography journey three years ago. I first picked up a camera to document my husband's hunting adventures and eventually started documenting families, and my passion was born! I genuinely love being behind the camera. Documenting people's stories is one of my true passions and is something I hope to do for many years to come.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner has been connecting with hundreds of people and having them trust me to document their lives.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

For me, one of the hardest things about being a business owner is delivering photo galleries. I always get so nervous waiting for a response from the client. I always hope they love the photos and worry about it until I receive a response!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Make sure you're ready to learn the ins and outs of running a business.
  2. Be passionate about your business.
  3. Take risks and think outside the box!
