I have used that passion over the last 15 years to help finance functions build high-performing teams and optimize business performance within the banking industry. My people-centric approach engages, supports, and empowers people doing the work in driving impactful and sustainable change. Today, I want to share my experience and expertise with more leaders to boost productivity by fostering open, collaborative, and inclusive work environments where every employee can thrive and realize their full potential. My priority is to equip executives, managers, and teams with the tools, strategies, and mindset to maximize performance without burning out.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I would say getting started. Having the courage to leave a 6-figure job I was extremely good at to bet on myself and venture into entrepreneurship. Having the resilience to keep going and pushing forward even when things are hard and not give up.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

As a solopreneur, it is having to wear multiple hats and be responsible for every aspect of the business. Trying to strike the right balance between putting in the hours to build a successful, rewarding, and impactful business and taking care of yourself and giving yourself grace so you do not burn out.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Learn to feel comfortable with the uncomfortable. As a business owner, you will be required to do things that are outside of your comfort zone to grow and take your business to the next level. And remember to get something you never had; you have to do something you never did before. Do not let the fears, doubts, and uncertainties paralyze you, but instead, have a big enough and compelling “why” to keep you going and take imperfect actions towards your goals.
  2. Make sure you spend the time to set specific, intentional, and strategic goals. Set your annual goals and then break them down into quarterly goals (ideally a max of 3) with action steps for each, keeping in mind the 80/20 rule (identify the right things to focus on that will have the maximum impact). And most importantly, measure and track your progress.
  3. Make sure you are taking the time to take care of yourself, engage in activities that fill your cup, and build resilience to avoid burning out. It will ultimately help you increase your productivity, performance, and success.
