What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am a coach and mentor, guiding entrepreneurs and high achievers to their souls through their human experiences. I integrate a trauma-informed lens, a Master in Spiritual Psychology, somatic and energetic work, as well as certifications in Breathwork, Human Design, and the Munayki Rites. I have supported founders and leaders at Whole 30, Under Armor, Tone It Up, Mindbodygreen, Viacom, CBS, Microsoft, and Wells Fargo, as well as entrepreneurs. I share how I work with clients and common human challenges in my podcast, The Beautiful Grit. I offer Breathwork Training, Rise Group Coaching, and Human Design Group Coaching.
Tell us about yourself
I was intuitive as a child, sick as a teen, and experienced near-death at age 15. Even then, I was determined to heal in natural ways and read Deepak Chopra, Louise Hay, and Wayne Dyer's books. The near-death and healing journey taught me life was precious and to take advantage of every experience. I went to college and graduated, climbed the corporate ladder, and experienced traditional success, but I was always seeking answers to the deeper questions - who am I, what am I doing here, how can I help others?
After years of seeking, reading, learning, healing, and coaching, I realized what I was looking for was already within me. Through my master's in spiritual psychology while still working full time, I surrendered and released energy that was not mine and started sharing what I wished to see in the world - awakening to the soul within, why it incarnated into these beautiful and gritty human experiences, and to use all of those experiences as an opportunity to embody the luminous energy field within each of us.
Since then, I bring 17 years of working in clinical research, both in academia as well as large pharmaceutical and small biotech start-ups, 12 years of coaching, trauma healing, wellness, sobriety, parenting, executive leadership, entrepreneurial expansion, and soul medicine, as well as my intuitive gifts to virtual and in-person offerings.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Leaving a financially successful consulting career in pharmaceutical and biotech research to pursue coaching, mentoring, and healing work full-time as a mother with two young children. I have been a multiple six-figure business owner just one year after my mother passed away, through a separation, divorce, and pandemic. All of this has taught me so much about soul and human success.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
I feel entrepreneurship offers deep healing and expansion on all levels of consciousness. It will push against whatever blocks and limiting beliefs you have about yourself. I feel it requires self-inquiry, self-assessment, self-trust, and self-love to create your own abundance. I feel that now we are being given an opportunity as women to create from a different energy and work ethic, one that is embodied, grounded, sustainable, and deeply connected to our intuition, creation, and savvy.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Get clear on your WHY. I feel Human Design supports us in connecting to our soul's incarnation purpose in being here, innate energy centers, and gifts to draw upon. Knowing where you've been, why you are here, and what Source wants you to be doing for your unique contribution to the collective. It cannot just be about money. I feel success will come by asking Source as your employer to show you where to show up and serve, taking consistent action and incorporating daily self-care and rest, and willingness to take risks and have faith and vision.
