What's your business, and who are your customers?
My business is small business advice, writing business and mindset books, and business blogging. My clients are budding entrepreneurs between the age of 21-35 and are primarily from the U.K. and the USA. My customers are passionate about personal and business growth.
Tell us about yourself
I was in my own family business after leaving a career and was passionate about creating a product or service that could help others and help me feel fulfilled in a purpose-driven role. So I left the family business and started searching online. I decided to design my own brand and connect a host of services around that brand. Today I have written and jointly written 26 books. Created courses that students have completed globally and advised small business owners from all corners of the globe on business development, branding, growth, team performance, and environmental and sustainability shifts.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Becoming globally recognised and hired when working as just a one-man band.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Having the revenue, discipline, and commitment to carry on when tough times, challenges, and setbacks try to sabotage your progress. Also, in ensuring that increased growth goals are achieved.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Start with a plan, as without it, you have no focus or direction by which to aim for.
- Be open-minded and positive but realistic when starting, as this energy will drive you forward.
- Where possible, hire others who are better than you for roles you cannot do and ensure communication is always clear and transparent.
