Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in food and beverage but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Rachel Rotunno, founder of Grazing Cape Cod, located in Falmouth, MA, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
Grazing Cape Cod is an event and catering company located on Cape Cod. We specialize in charcuterie - using locally sourced ingredients in our grazing tables and luxury picnics and displays. Our motto is locally sourced artfully created. We really pride ourselves on presentation and taste.
Tell us about yourself
I have always had a love for cuisine; I come from a large Italian family where food is a big deal! I created the idea for my business in 2019. Since then, I have really tried to focus on the presentation and quality of ingredients.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment is being able to provide my "art" to a community that I love so much. Growing up on Cape Cod, I have always been proud to be from here. Meeting new people and learning more about the community has been amazing. Also, being featured in Martha Stewart was a pretty awesome feeling!
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Time management, there are only 24 hours in a day, and sometimes it doesn't feel like enough! Summer is a huge season for us, but it is also when Cape Cod shines. I need to get to the beach more this summer!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Three tips I would give someone would be to find something you love, learn your craft, and be okay with failure. Sometimes things don't always work out.
