What's your business, and who are your customers?

I own Grab the Map, a real estate holding and education company. My customers are people looking to get started in real estate investing or scale up a rental portfolio.

Tell us about yourself

I started while working a full-time job. I'm formally a teacher for five years, a school principal for five years, and a college professor. I'm motivated to create a lifestyle for my wife and kids that we dream about. I'm also motivated by helping change their lives.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I've scaled a portfolio to 30 million dollars in real estate and helped hundreds of people start or scale their rental property portfolio.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things that come with being a business owner is establishing the mindset required to grow and making the connections necessary to succeed.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Get around quality people growing, and deepen the relationships.
  2. Find a mentor to help you grow faster, and multiply your efforts.
  3. Enjoy the journey, the ups and the downs.
