Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in food and beverage but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Darren Choo, co-owner of Got 2 Eat Meals, located in Burnaby, BC, Canada.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
A meal prep company that cooks portions & packs healthy, tasty meals for physically active business professionals who are always on the go.
Tell us about yourself
My business partner Jon Robson, a well-known personal trainer, came up with the idea after his clients started asking to make the meal plans that he put together for them. What motivates us is people coming to us with their first words being "I need to eat better and I don't have time to cook"
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
We recently were nominated for Top Choice Awards this year and are so honoured to be recognised amongst the elite in the lower mainland.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Taking the hits during the downtimes, especially from a financial perspective.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Have a solid product before you start.
- Know your customer base and focus on them.
- Be open-minded to other opportunities when they present themselves.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
Business has a lot of ups and downs, and when the bullets fly, take your hits.... but believe that you are bulletproof.
