#GoSoloStories: Echo Yoga
Hey, I'm Echo and I run Echo Yoga.
Tell us all about your business...
I'm a yoga teacher, I teach mostly Live online and it's been wonderful. I've been able to grow my business during the pandemic. My customers are wonderful humans from all over the world - because the sessions are live we are able to interact and now have a wonderful community.
What's your background and motivation to get into the solopreneur life?
I started teaching 5 years ago and everyday I fall more and more in love with teaching. I moved to London in April in 2021 and I'm steadily getting myself into the yoga world here. It's so exciting with lots of great opportunities popping up.
As a business owner, what does success ultimately mean to you?
I feel very lucky that I'm in an industry that I love, i think the success for me is being able to reach more people and share the wonderful benefits of yoga.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Having to deal with conflicts of interest. I've had some students try to avoid paying and finding ways to still access my content. It was very hard at first but it's been really great for my personal growth too.
What are the top 3 tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run or grow a business today?
Trust yourself, be creative with your ideas and speak to people who will big you up and support you.
If there was one thing you could do repeatedly to help grow your business, what would it be?
Teach more and more and more! I love it!
What are some of the things you put in place to maintain a healthy work/life balance and to keep it all together?
I make sure I keep my weekends and evenings free of work related things - such as emails. Working for yourself means you could work 24/7 so I also block white space into my diary and use that time just for me.
Who are some of your favorite entrepreneurs and best business resources/books?
I'd say my close friends are the people who inspire me rather than celebrities. If it has to be a celebrity then Kino McGregor has a fantastic approach.
Where can people find you online?
My website is www.echo.yoga and you can find me on Instagram @echolikesyoga
