What's your business, and who are your customers?

Glamour Beauty is a full-service salon and on-site hair and makeup company. Our artists specialize in hair and makeup for bridal. We are one of the few companies in MN that offers a full airbrush for eyes, lips, foundation, and cheeks. It lasts for over 24+ hours and is completely customizable to each client.

Tell us about yourself

I started in cosmetology school and graduated in 2013. I then started in the on-site bridal industry and found that to be my passion. I freelanced with multiple companies for about four years and then started Glamour Beauty. I love to make brides feel beautiful on their special day. I love watching the full look come together.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I would say opening a salon this year. Also, during COVID, I reached 100+ weddings booked, so that was a pretty big accomplishment.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

I think the hardest thing is that it does come down on you at the end of the day. If someone is unhappy, it's your job as the business owner to problem solve and figure out the best way to help the client.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

I would say to do it. You don't know unless you try! It's scary and a HUGE risk, but it's 100% worth it. Have a good support team - know that there are really hard days where you need someone to vent to or cry to; the same with the really good days! Never stop learning. Once you stop learning, you won't be able to grow!
