What's your business, and who are your customers?
Our business is a health and beauty spa, which provides facials, lash extensions, permanent make-up, massage, slim wave, laser and etc.
Tell us about yourself
Anisa and Amina Hirabe are sisters and co-owners of #Glam Studio spa located in Northwest Edmonton. They found that it was difficult finding all of the health and beauty services they wanted in north Edmonton and saw it as an ideal location for their business. The Hirabe sisters used their experience and skills to open their spa. Anisa has a background in interior design and is a lash technician/ PMU artist and lash instructor, while Amina studied graphic design and is a skin therapist. They are passionate about helping people feel and look good by providing them health and beauty services.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Expanding our spa into our current commercial location and enjoying going to work every day.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Staying on top of competing priorities, for example, marketing, staffing, customer service, and accounting.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Starting with a well-thought-out plan, promoting your business with social media, and having an easily accessible website.
