What's your business, and who are your customers?

I'm in the business of experience design and website development on Squarespace. This is my way of supporting marginalized communities that lack the resources to grow their digital presence. I can work on everything from apps to web pages and connect them to developers outside of the US for larger projects.

Tell us about yourself

I'm motivated by my keen eye for problem-solving design, blending UX and my psychology background to create thoughtful, innovative designs that impact people's lives.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is delivering proven growth to small businesses I believe in. They just need one person to bring them to that next level and get more eyes on their offerings. Improving their livelihood gives me so much fulfillment and keeps my drive going.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

One of the toughest things is time management. There are 100 things to do at any given time, but multitasking makes it impossible to give 100% to one task. Instead, I focus on a few priority tasks a day and set a timer to keep myself on track.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Keep a spreadsheet of all your finances.
  2. Don't be afraid to network; you never know when that connection will come in handy.
  3. Failure is a vital part of the learning process; you can't grow without it.
