Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in arts and crafts but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Eboni White, Artist and Owner of GiaArts, located in Southfield, MI, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I have an art business named GiaArts. I create a few different types like texture art, fluent art, and resin art. If you are looking for something edgy and beautiful, you'll definitely love my pieces.

Tell us about yourself

I've always had a love for art, but honestly, I was at a crossroads in life, and I didn't know what my purpose was. I kept asking God to give me purpose. I ended up having the craziest dream, and the name of the person in my dream wouldn't escape me. So I looked up what the name meant. Gia: God Is Gracious. I said wow, God, I hear you, and that was that. I named my company Gia Arts.

I continue to push on because this was God's blessing to me, it does get hard, but I just think about how far I've come.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I think this is a huge accomplishment being a part of this article and to know I'm here because people value my work. It means the world to me.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Not always having money to create. Sometimes I'll have what I call rest months. I'm not that well known, so it's hard to get sales.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Have a good business plan. Don't let others stop you. Work hard and stay consistent.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

I want my face to stay anonymous so that my work can speak for itself. Also, God gets the Glory!
