Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Ghaith Dhaidan, COO of Kent Chiro Med Wellness Clinic, located in Ottawa, ON, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Kent Chiro Med Wellness Clinic is a state-of-the-art rehab clinic offering Chiropractic and Physiotherapy services in downtown Ottawa. We pride ourselves in offering the highest quality services and setting a new standard when it comes to patient care. Our customers range from Olympic athletes to office workers to parents. Anyone is susceptible to sprains, strains, car accidents, tendinitis, bursitis, disc herniation, or nerve impingement.

Tell us about yourself

I fell in love with the profession after suffering from injuries playing sports and after having surgery. Being able to help people treat the root cause of their problem so they can participate in life, hobbies, sports, and the things they love is far more satisfying than prescribing medication to hide symptoms.

The second motivation is to be a disruptor in the industry. Many clinics provide the bare minimum service and focus on maximum profitability, thus sacrificing the patient experience and focus. This reduces not only patient satisfaction but also practitioner passion.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Creating a successful business model and brand that is profitable, providing a positive work culture, and keeping patient satisfaction at the center.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Managing people, keeping them motivated and accountable.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Set your boundaries. You will be asked to sacrifice a lot, which will never end. Running a business is a marathon, not a race, so pace yourself and know when to take a slight rest, so you don't burn out.
  2. Passion. Do not do something you are not in love with it passionate about. Your customers will be able to tell if your services and products are coming from the heart or just purely a form of making money.
  3. Trust. Find people who you can trust fully. You can teach people skills, but you cannot teach trust, ethics, or personality.
