What's your business, and who are your customers?

Gemini Wellness is dedicated to mental and sexual wellness. I am here to help you become the best authentic version of yourself, whether it be through coaching or therapy. I believe life is a series of transitions within relationships, sexuality, identity, school, and careers. During these transitions, life coaching and therapy can be a source of support, discovery, healing, and prevention.

I think of life coaching and therapy as a place to gather tools. These tools can help you identify your feelings, better understand yourself and manage uncomfortable and sometimes challenging emotions. When you're feeling confused or stressed, therapy can be the place where you don't have to know all the answers, be vulnerable, and find support while also building skills and finding clarity. My success coaching teaches the skills, techniques, and strategies necessary to prevent mental health breakdowns and build the success and resilience necessary to achieve long-term career goals. I teach "Success and Sanity;" how to succeed without losing your mind.

I am culturally centered and sex-positive. I work with adolescents (13-18) and adults (19+). I specialize in anxiety, depression, treating trauma, working within the LGBTQIA+ community, sex and sexual identity, monogamous and non-monogamous relationships, entertainers, and entrepreneurs. I provide an affirming space to work with individuals. I have experience working in individual and residential settings utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Narrative Exposure Therapy. I utilize methods that specifically benefit each individual client. Supporting my business is supporting yourself and/or someone else to be their best.

Tell us about yourself

I began Gemini Wellness because I wanted a safe place where people could come to get answers and guidance ​and build community in regard to mental and sexual health. ​Mental and sexual health are often considered very taboo, and "GW" aims to break down the stigma and barriers that individuals and families experience when trying to access competent and comprehensive care. I am motivated by each one of my clients' progress and growth from reduced panic attacks, healed trauma, getting a new job, and the list goes on. I truly win whenever my clients improve.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment so far is my referral growth. 50% of my growth is due to client referrals. My clients not only feel comfortable disclosing they are in therapy but feel comfortable enough to refer me to others. For me, that is huge.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things about being a business owner, or private practice owner, is that I am the secretary, therapist, and biller. I literally do it all.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Lose your ego. If you don't know something, ask for help. Ask someone for help, a referral, or look up the answer.
  2. Know if you need social media or NOT. Not all businesses necessarily need a social media presence. Determine if you do or don't. If you do, lean into it and give it the attention it needs. Social media is an amazing business tool if used correctly.
  3. Just start! Perfection does not exist. Perfection is the thief of success. Just start and work out things as you go.
