Future Firm provides coaching, education, and a community to modern accounting firm owners who want to work less and make more.

Tell us about yourself

I started one of the first online accounting firms in North America in 2013 called Xen Accounting. I took it from scratch to acquisition in 5 years. My true purpose is to help advance the accounting profession by helping other accounting firm owners create a modern accounting firm that they love and that gives them an amazing lifestyle. One that reduces their time spent in the business, increases their profitability, and allows them to spend more time with their families.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Having my first business acquired. It validated what I built.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

It can be a lonely place. Which is why you should find communities to surround yourself with like-minded individuals.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Start with the end in mind. Clarify what you want your ideal life to look like and craft your business around the lifestyle you want.
  2. Don't undervalue yourself. Too many in the service sector are doing too much for too little.
  3. Seek outside help. The challenges you've gone through are not unique, and you can shortcut your results with coaches, mentors, and others in your community.
