What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am a digital marketing strategist specializing in ActiveCampaign email marketing sales automation, search engine optimization (SEO), and, coming soon, YouTube paid ads. I primarily work with coaches, course creators, and online service providers to systematize their businesses, and use technology to do the heavy lifting for them, so they can take back their time and get back to doing what they love.
Tell us about yourself
I worked for many years in corporate IT and, after a layoff, found my way into a health and life coaching certification program. Along my coaching journey, I was introduced to several apps (like ActiveCampaign) that were critical to running my coaching business. I had the technical background to easily pick up the technology, but many of the coaches in my network did not, so I found myself spending a lot of my time helping other coaches with the tech. I pivoted and brought together my coaching experiences with my IT roots, became a certified FunnelPro and the rest is history.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Taking the leap to go out on my own. Owning my time and showing my three girls that they can do anything!
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Staying focused and not chasing shiny objects. Set boundaries with my time and get paid appropriately for what my services are worth.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- You don't have to do ALL the things. Know your limitations and hire out for the things you need help with. It's the best investment in your business you'll make.
- Get a coach/mentor/network to push and inspire you, bounce ideas off of, and get all-around support from people who have walked in your shoes.
- Follow your intuition and do what lights you up. Don't be afraid to pivot.
