What's your business, and who are your customers?

I'm a freelance project manager and solopreneur coach. I started my company, Fruition Initiatives, to help people and organizations turn their ideas into action – to bring their goals to fruition. I'm an operational expert and have been a project strategist for over a decade, designing and leading projects for a variety of organizations, helping businesses refine systems and processes, and providing support to researchers, educators, entrepreneurs, and leaders.

On top of my project management expertise, I'm also an author, coach, blogger, and content creator who helps solopreneurs live up to their highest potential. I take my expertise as a consistent six-figure freelancer and combine it with my background in curriculum design, facilitation, and coaching to give solopreneurs the support to get what they need out of their work EVERY. DAY.

Tell us about yourself

I started my business because I was tired of other people telling me what to do, how to do it, and what I was worth. I'm motivated every day by the freedom that entrepreneurship gives me and by helping other people access that freedom.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is watching the people I support bring their projects and goals to fruition.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

There is no one there to hold your hand. You are solely responsible for your success or failure.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Think about what you love to do and what your life needs and build your business around it.
  2. Reach out to other entrepreneurs and have discussions about what it's like to run a business.
  3. When you're having those conversations, ask them about their pricing. The only way to get paid what you're worth is to know what the market is paying for the same services.
