What's your business, and who are your customers?

Freshly Preserved Freeze Dries many wonderful Edible Flowers, Fruits, Vegetables, and Fun Candies. We have been freeze-drying for over 22 years! Our clients are Everyone! Healthy people take an active interest in eating clean because we add no salt, sugar, or preservatives. Also, we have a place for Restaurants, Distilleries, Bakers, and mixologists who all use our Edible Flowers to add beautiful flowers to their delicious creations. Our Edible flowers are Organic and are so fun to use. Don't forget the home foodies with their charcuterie and butter boards!

Tell us about yourself

I have always been a foodie, and so was my mom. We preserved food in so many ways. Over 20 years ago, I discovered Freeze Drying and fell in love. When you do what you love, you are always looking to "try" more ideas. We have more items in the works. It is truly endless.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I have been in many businesses, but the Freeze Dry has by far been my favorite. The background of my other businesses has given me the insight for working with other Business Owners. My biggest accomplishment is bringing fun creations and collaborating with business owners to help them create a signature look using our flowers and fun foods.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

As a business owner, it is always challenging to come up with different uses for our products. Charcuterie and butter boards have been the latest craze. Also, signature cocktails have moved into weddings and large events. Many times you have to find your place in new and upcoming trends.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Do what you love; it is never a job but a passion.
  2. Keep up with new fads and trends. It is forever changing but so fun.
  3. Find employees that share your interest; you will have a common interest. That employee offers the backup you will need at some point.
