What's your business, and who are your customers?

At Fraser Candle Co, we’re all about clean-burning candles and ways to enjoy scent with fewer toxins. We use 100% premium soy wax, fragrances free of parabens and phthalates, and lead-free cotton wicks. Health-conscious customers who are looking for a quality product without the added unnecessary chemicals and toxins that also understand the importance of supporting small businesses are what make up most of our customer base!

Tell us about yourself

I’ve always had a love for scent. As a child, you could find me hanging out at the perfume counter of big chain stories trying all of the testers and analyzing the different scent combinations.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is the incredible connections that I’ve been able to make with other small businesses and people in our community and continue to expand my products with the support that I’ve received from customers!

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Starting a business during a pandemic can certainly have its challenges, and supply chain issues have been wild! As a business owner, you’ll doubt yourself repeatedly with decisions and compare yourself to others, but it’s so important to remember why you started and keep pushing through the challenges.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. It is absolutely to just “go for it.”
  2. You will make mistakes, and that’s okay. Use them as lessons for how you do things moving forward.
  3. Connect as much as you create. The more you connect with your customers, other small businesses, etc. will make all of the difference.
