Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Dayna Hrovath, Founder of Fountain Mills Functional Wellness, located in Scottdale, PA, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
Fountain Mills Functional Wellness is an online health and wellness company that utilizes online group programs to help people love the skin they're in. I help committed people resolve psoriasis naturally.
Tell us about yourself
My Name is Dayna Hrovath, and I am an expert in psoriasis. I have been helping frustrated people with psoriasis improve their itch, pain, and rash using a unique approach to psoriasis that few in the healthcare world have access to. So...why do I do what I do? I have been a Dermatology PA since 2005. I love working with people to help their skin issues and find it very rewarding.
A few years ago, I started having health issues that weren't being adequately addressed by conventional medicine. I turned towards alternative methods and was amazed at what could be done to actually improve a condition instead of just covering up the symptoms. This isn't what we are taught in our medical training. Heck, we are barely taught anything about lifestyle factors and supplements. Did I wonder how many people with psoriasis feel the same way? Feeling frustrated and alone. I want to give people another option and help them improve their skin and overall health...EMPOWER them.
I understand that having a healthcare plan that lets you take control of your own health is paramount to your success. I understand this challenge very well, and my goal is to help people understand how to lower their inflammation so they can love the skin they're in without harmful medications.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Creating an online program that not only teaches people what they need to do but also gives them support as they implement those changes.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
I find the marketing and just getting the word out is the most difficult.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Just do it. You will always be able to talk yourself out of it. What will you miss out on if you do?
- There will be ups and downs. Don't let the downs cause you to quit.
- Get help. If you don't know how to best do something because that isn't your area of expertise, find someone who does.
