Road to Recovery - Fostering Resilience
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with KJ Foster, founder, and CEO of Fostering Resilience, located in Boca Raton, FL, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
Fostering Resilience provides education, meditation, and other tools, resources, and support for individuals - and their loved ones - who are seeking to recover from substance abuse and addiction issues.
Tell us about yourself
My company and the resources I provide are the byproducts of my own personal recovery from an addiction to alcohol and as the mother of a son who has also achieved successful recovery from this debilitating disease. I've since become a therapist who specializes in addiction recovery, family recovery, and counselor education.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I am very proud of the fact that most of the resources I provide are absolutely free! My website, YouTube channel, and the Fostering Resilience App contain hundreds of free resources you can access immediately!
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Time management. I have to constantly remind myself to take my own advice and put the oxygen mask on myself first in order to be at my best.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Believe in yourself, no matter what!
- Prepare for challenges (you will have them).
- Don't give up.
