What's your business, and who are your customers?
Our company sells nutritional supplements. We offer premium supplements to a wide spectrum of customers of all ages and genders, to anyone looking to improve and nourish their physical and mental health.
Tell us about yourself
I am the creator of Folona, a dedicated food scientist, a businesswoman who focuses on health, a blogger who writes about science, an amateur cook, a wife of a devoted husband, a mother of a lovely newborn girl, and an introverted nature lover. I have a B.S. in biology and physiology and an M.S. in Food science degree.
After nearly ten years of working as a food scientist in the food industry, I decided to develop Folona and leave my 9-to-5 job out of frustration with the profit-driven business model of conglomerate corporations. I wanted to develop a line of food and dietary supplements that I am confident in, feeding my family first and foremost before offering the wider public, using my knowledge of the science of industrial food processing.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
To learn from our customers' feedback that our products have had a positive impact on their quality of life is my biggest accomplishment as a business owner.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The hardest part of running a business would be to manage the cash flow and keep the faith that we will succeed, as it took years for the seeds to start bearing fruits.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
