What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are FODMAP Everyday®. We help millions of people worldwide with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) learn to thrive on the low FODMAP diet and live symptom-free life while eating deliciously.

Tell us about yourself

I had lived with IBS for 25 years when I discovered the low FODMAP diet in 2015. It changed - and saved - my life. I had been a professional recipe developer and cookbook author and decided to pivot and focus on this clinically proven diet. I want to help the millions of those with IBS learn how to live their lives again, free of pain, while also eating well.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Hearing from people every single day about how we have made a positive impact on their lives.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

I co-own the businesses 50/50 with my partner, Robin Jaffin. The two of us do the work of a small army.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. It all depends. If we are talking about a digitally based business like ours, then you must have a really great understanding of SEO.
  2. Be passionate about your topic.
  3. And lastly, I have been a solopreneur in the past. I do not recommend it.
