What's your business, and who are your customers?

Flower Market is a digital cannabis wellness marketplace for consumers in California. We pair the right products for our consumer's needs through education and curated offerings.

Tell us about yourself

After a six-year career in photojournalism, I pivoted to starting a cannabis delivery company. I grew the business by myself to seven-figure revenue in 18 months. Every day I'm motivated to keep pushing because we fill a void in the industry, and my vision is clear about where we're headed, but we still have a ways to go before we reach our destination.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Helping real people improve the quality of their everyday lives with the education and products we offer.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Prioritizing personal time. There's always some kind of work to do, but it's important to take a step back, set boundaries, and enjoy the journey because it's a long one.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

The first tip is to do something different, meaning look at where the trend is going tomorrow, not where it is today. Second, test your idea to make sure it's a fit for the market. Lastly, whatever your market is, figure out where the biggest value lies and focus on that. One more tip, there are no failures or losses, only lessons.
