What's your business, and who are your customers?

I'm a medical doctor teaching people how to be their own doctor and heal themselves on the level of mind, body, and spirit.

Tell us about yourself

I've been practicing medicine for 20 years. I realized that what people need most is to remember how to heal themselves, that we're all born experts, and that remembering our gifts and skills is not only often more effective than medicine, it's more enjoyable and pleasurable as well. Once I realized this, I saw that I could help many more people in a much more effective and sustainable way. I feel like I've hit the jackpot. And so so my patients and students!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Independence. Doing what I truly love. My ability to be in service in a truly meaningful way and not burn me out.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Paperwork. Financial and logistical management. I have been fortunate to find wonderful, skilled, and trustworthy people who love to do the tasks I do not want to do!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Do what you truly love so that you're happy to get out of bed each day.
  2. Delegate the things you don't love to people you trust who do love to do those things.
  3. Be kind and ethical. Take care of the people you do business with (do unto others).
