What's your business, and who are your customers?

Like many entrepreneurs, I run different businesses; I run a successful barbershop in Chester, NJ, as well as an Educational Barber program, both Online and in-person. I'm also a content creator with two successful YouTube Channels with over 800K subscribers. My clients and customers are those who care about the way they look and feel and want to best for them. Also, my students are those who want to become not just barbers or hairstylists but the next pillars of our industry. I strive for quality, and that's what my brand and legacy stand for.

Tell us about yourself

My motivation has always been to impact others by using the talents and skills that God has given me. As a Barber and entrepreneur, my mission has always been to elevate my industry and help others achieve their goals by providing education and a step by step guidance on how to get there.

It wasn't easy to get started as a Latino immigrant with a single mom, but I have always had the desire to make my life count by being impactful and helping others in any way I could help. God has given me the passion and resources to make something out of nothing, and I use that to change people's lives.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner has been to be able to create a platform where other artists can have everything they need to succeed in the hair industry and in life. Hearing the testimonials from those I was able to help has to be the biggest reward I could have asked for.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

The hardest thing as a business owner has been the sacrifice and consistency that it takes to be able to make little progress every day. I had to remind myself daily why I do what I do and that dreams and promises weigh more than excuses.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

A couple of tips that have helped me get to where I am today are the following:

Success is a result of just taking consistent steps every day. Always look at the big picture, and never forget that to get to where you wanna be, you have to be able to sacrifice who you are for who you want to become.
It's not about the shiny wrapper but what is inside. Many want to have everything perfect and aligned to get started, and they never do. Start with whatever you have and, little by little, improve on it.
It's not about the results but the journey. Enjoy every moment of what you do; the good, the bad, and the ugly are part of being an entrepreneur. Never lose sight of why you got started and the problem that you are solving. Problem-solving is the essence of an entrepreneur.
