Wellness for Military & First Responders - Fire Team Whiskey
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and fitness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Stephanie Lincoln, Founder and CEO of Fire Team Whiskey, located in Jacksonville, FL, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
Mental, Physical, and Nutritional solutions for Military Veterans, First Responders, and their family members.
Tell us about yourself
I am the vision behind Fire Team Whiskey®. My name is Stephanie Lincoln, and I served as an Army Captain in the past. While working as a civilian contractor running Military Mental Health Programs, I noticed a disturbing trend of declining health among our service members. It used to be rare for military members to be overweight and unwell, but now it's become the norm.
With my knowledge of the latest research in Trauma Resolution, Nutritional Mental Health, and Fitness, I realized that there was a significant gap in services that the military was not providing. I wanted to make a difference, and that's how Fire Team Whiskey came to be. I designed Fire Team Whiskey to provide a holistic, comprehensive wellness program that optimizes the health, wellness, and fitness of military veterans and first responders worldwide quickly.
With Trauma Resolution, Coaching, Fitness Training, Nutrition Coaching, and wellness education programs, Fire Team Whiskey offers everything that service members need, all in one place on the Fire Team Whiskey app. I'm proud to be able to offer this virtually and conveniently to help as many people as possible.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Being featured in major media outlets. Fire Team Whiskey has been featured in magazines, newspapers, books, online articles, radio, TV, and podcasts.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
The constant, endless to-do list can easily make you feel overwhelmed and burnt out constantly.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- You better be ready to hustle and be broke for a few years. Most businesses fail in the first five years. There is a very small chance of success, and in fact, failure will be guaranteed and happen frequently. You need to gauge whether or not you are willing to fail and pursue despite this because it will happen.
- Don't reinvent the wheel. Someone has done it already, and someone has done it better. You need to learn from those doing it already and doing it well and be humble enough to know that your way of doing things may not be the best way.
- Partnerships, collaborations, and connections are key. Pretty much everyone that has helped me make my business better has been someone I have met through networking, referrals from other business owners, or collaborations. You need to be out there meeting people, collaborating, and supporting other business owners because these are the people who will be amazing resources when you need them the most.
