What's your business, and who are your customers?
FinPay is a patient engagement and financial management company that offers a platform of technology products as well as a fully Managed Solution to improve patient engagement and maximize the capture of Patient Financial responsibility for Providers. FinPay provides its solution to behavioral health substance abuse, mental health providers & acute and post-acute care providers.
Tell us about yourself
I am a seasoned C-level executive with over twenty-five (25) years of experience running public and private companies. I have been CEO or President of four different companies (1 public, 3 Venture Capital, or Private Equity-backed) over the last 25 years. I was hired by the Board of Directors of FinPay three (3) years ago to set the strategic vision for the company and execute this vision to improve the engagement and financial management of patients in the U.S. healthcare market. I am driven each day to improve the patient experience in healthcare, an area in that healthcare historically has failed. Through FinPay’s educational transparency and optimized solution, FinPay is proud to share that patients routinely score FinPay with an overall 95% positive patient experience related to their financial experience.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I have decades of experience growing the business and financial value of multiple companies across several industries. Solving a critical problem for customers is key to the value these various companies have achieved, and doing it in a way that drives financial value for the company is important.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Running a company is a mix of thinking strategically and also tactically. It is critical for any CEO to surround themselves with a team that is strategically aligned but also tactically empowered to execute this strategy daily.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Ensure your company has access to the capital necessary to execute your strategy.
- Hire and surround yourself with people who understand your strategic vision, but ensure you empower them to achieve that strategy. You can not successfully grow any company by yourself.
- Listen to your customers. You may believe you know what your customer needs and wants but make sure you constantly validate those assumptions.
