What's your business, and who are your customers?
Financial Fitness Unleashed supports women with reimagining their money. Our community, Her Money Club, facilitates trainings, member library, and community conversations to get people started with saving, wealth building, and business building.
Tell us about yourself
Working in wealth management for 17 years, I realized pretty quickly that the humans we were serving were not getting the full scope of answers they desired in order to take action on their goals or dreams. When I worked at various insurance and investment firms, the goal was always to sell clients products, not answer their challenging money mindset and emotional money questions. I wanted to create a safe space - for women in particular - to be able to ask ANY question about money and get REAL answers. Not cookie-cutter answers - attempting to drive decision-making towards a product.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Building my community. I've really enjoyed seeing the community come together more recently to connect and collaborate. It has taken me a few years to figure out marketing and enrollment strategies to create this, but now I feel like we are finally seeing momentum.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Managing multiple hats. Marketing, sales, onboarding, fulfillment. When you are a small business, even with delegated support, it still feels like a lot to take on...many of these tasks of which are not my expertise.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Take your time, no pressure, focus on the process, and mastery of simplicity. Enjoy the ride!
