Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Belinda Clarke, Founder of Feminine Empowerment Academy, located in Ibiza, Baleares, Spain.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
Empowering women to discover their own value, power, and confidence, a balance and blend of masculine and feminine energies as a way of life. I do this through courses and coaching, encouraging women to find their own unique blend of doing and being in this world. Honoring the importance of both their masculinity and femininity. Exploring and valuing the feminine side by embodying connection, compassion, empathy, and emotional intelligence as habits for life. My clients are women of any age ready to discover and claim their birthright.
Tell us about yourself
I studied Law at University as a single parent of 2 young children. Within eight years, I had developed into a very masculine woman at work and at home. I wore dark pinstripe trouser suits, had short dark hair and was regarded as one of the 'boys.' I lost all of my feminine identity in pursuit of my career and felt stuck.
Long story short, I got sacked, left the industry, and got some help in the form of life coaching. I changed my life, uncovered my hidden feminine qualities, and began a journey to nurture myself into balance, honoring both my masculine and feminine energies.
Now, many years later, after retraining as a Life Coach and gaining Post Graduate Qualifications in Psychology and Teaching, I help women who are stuck in a masculine rut (like I was) working long hours, stressed, trying to prove their worth by pushing and forcing, yet not progressing or feeling valued at work.
My motivation comes from a place of knowing that there is another way, an easier way, and one that can lead to your best life, as long as you are ready and willing to look for and open that new door.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Writing and publishing my first book - Pregnant Punk at 14, Empowered At 50. It truly is an inspirational memoir that has helped hundreds of people to either change their own lives or their own thinking for the better.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
For me, it's keeping up with the latest promotion and marketing trends, especially on social media.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Find a good business mentor to help support you on your journey.
- Write down your intentions for your business.
- Take time off and away from the computer and phone.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
Be the change you wish to see in the world - Gandhi.
