What's your business, and who are your customers?

Feathered Fox Designs is a Luxury Balloon Company servicing clients looking for the best balloon decor for their events.

Tell us about yourself

I am a mother of 3 children. Kameron, Age 9, and identical twin girls, Aria and Kayla, age 6. In early 2020, I was looking for a creative outlet and discovered the world of luxury balloons. I knew I had to learn how to create such beautiful art! I practiced all the time and began making Balloon Garlands for my friends' kids. Soon after the pandemic hit, everyone wanted balloons for their drive-by birthdays! One birthday led to 5 more, and so on! I was busier than I expected to be, and clients loved my designs. I love being creative, and every job I do is a chance to challenge myself. This industry is so amazing because not only does it bring me joy, but it literally brings smiles to everyone I create for!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

This is a tough question because there are a lot of goals I've tackled that I'm proud of, but I would have to say creating my teaching platform Foxx Creative Share would be at the top of the list. Feathered Fox Designs grew fast, and I was being asked to teach by followers and industry peers, so I decided to take it up a notch and gather several balloon artists together and offer online balloon classes for anyone to learn organic balloon decor.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

The hardest part of being a business owner is learning to turn off being a business owner! Your mind is constantly thinking about your business, clients, marketing, growth, etc. However, learning to shut down and be more present in life when you're not working has been something I've had to work on. I'm definitely better at it now!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. First, I'd say be VERY clear on why you're starting your business and write your goals down. When times are tough, go back to why you're doing this and why you love it!
  2. Second, don't overthink it! Just do it. You don't need all the answers before you start; just start. You'll make mistakes and learn along the way.
  3. Lastly, be realistic about building your business. It takes time, money, and hard work! It doesn't happen overnight. Just keep moving forward.
