Live Limitlessly - Fear It Goes
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Brandi Taylor, a Transformative Coach & Founder of Fear It Goes, located in Calgary, AB, Canada.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
Fear It Goes is a Coaching and Consulting company. It has helped people in so many areas. Business Coaching, Life Coaching, Relationship Coaching, Microbiome & Health Coaching, and Hypnotherapy. I've helped people work through traumas, addictions, phobias, business challenges, and even marriages. While most coaches can do a lot, the one thing I've found is most meaningful for people as they grow this - they want to be happy, feel joy in how they spend their time and know they've lived it all without regret. Finding the area your heart sings in is where business really takes off.
I serve by helping couples discover deep love in their relationships again. I help men/women find deep love and connection after a divorce or breakup. Really I help unravel and clear all the baggage in the way of what you really want.
Tell us about yourself
It wasn't until I had a family and experienced building a business, being a hockey mom, and go-go-going all the time that things started to fray in my life. There was this sense of something missing. I was so busy and not feeling purposeful or the joy I expected from a successful life. Knowing if I wanted to change lives and leave a legacy of healthy, happy, and productive people being who they want to be, not who they were conditioned to be, it was time I got to work.
For me, the calling was just beginning when I was a financial advisor. I saw so many people struggling with their limiting beliefs, let alone finances. It was incredible just witnessing how much things changed when we put plans in place and really talked about what was important to them. It planted the seeds. So when I decided to leap, and yes, it was absolutely a leap of faith in myself, afraid or not, I took it. Since, I have learned many tools and systems to dig deeper, pull out the root causes, and really set someone free. That feeling is all the motivation in the world to me. Its freedom. And this world needs freedom. And want to give it to everyone.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Accomplishments are kind of interesting when you place value on them. To me, the biggest accomplishment I had wasn't an accolade. It was helping someone go from suicidal to finding joy in life. He had been falling through the cracks. No one was there to help him. He felt completely alone. That transformation to date has felt like my biggest accomplishment. While money is great, you can do wonderful things with that tool, and it's never been my deep why I do anything. Knowing your why will give you a freight train of motivation. It will pull you. You'll never feel the need to push through. It's your underlying driver.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Being consistent with mindset when life gets crazy. Life is always moving around us, inundating us with ideas that may or may not align with our business or success. Often what's happening outside the business can change the motivation to drive the business forward. Holding the vision of the business in times when the economic conditions seem to be limiting is one of the biggest challenges I've seen in clients.
Fear is a powerful limiter and blocks your ability to see opportunities. The mind is literally handicapped in moments of fear as it blocks access to creative solutions. It also permeates through the body and can create the environment for illness to thrive. Having tools to not combat but remove these thoughts and limiters is crucial. Definitely, the biggest challenge I see and have experienced within my business.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Mindset is your biggest limiter. Have DAILY practices that keep you in alignment with yourself, your purpose, and your trajectory of goals.
- Don't share big ideas with smaller thinkers. While they mean well, those that can't imagine those ideas will put their own limits on you, saying why it can't work. Share your ideas with big thinkers, those that not only hold the vision but help you expand it. All big ideas seem crazy until they are accomplished.
- Meditate. It is one of your superpowers. These brain frequencies bio hacks open you up to possibilities and your ability to see opportunities available to you. Many people can't or don't see what is right in front of them. 80% of the most successful entrepreneurs have a mindful practice.
- Bonus ~ Get a mentor or coach. No great athlete did it on their own. They never went out without a game plan or playbook just to see what would happen. Having a mentor or coach gets you to the finish line much faster for less cost in the big picture. You'll save years of trial and error or give up on your dream. They'll work with you to develop a real game plan, accountability, and support, which are truly the differences between success and failure.
