What's your business, and who are your customers?
My business is Home Inspections. My customers are realtors, potential home buyers, sellers, and homeowners. Home insurance, property management, lending companies.
Tell us about yourself
I am Tampa Native. Wharton High Grad. I joined the Navy and served 2 Wes Pac tours onboard USS SHILOH as a Damage Controlman (Shipboard Fire Fighter) in operation Iraqi Freedom. After the 9/11 attacks. I Played outfield, Infield and pitched for the all-Navy baseball team on the west coast.
After being honorably discharged from the US Navy as Damage Controlman (shipboard firefighter), I naturally wanted to be a Fire Fighter for the city or county. I tore my Achilles playing sports so I couldn’t start Fire Fight. School.
I decided to become a Fire Investigator/ Fire Inspector for the city. Discovered the home inspection industry. I researched and decided to be my boss and protect homebuyers seeking to achieve their piece of the American dream. My three beautiful daughters are my why.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is doing better every year.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things is staying focused and motivated and not being distracted from your goals. Especially if you a mostly a one-man show like myself.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Come up with the idea, product, or service.
- Invest in yourself. Don’t skip any steps.
- Never give up on yourself.
