Healthiest Alternative to Traditional Coffee - Everyday Dose
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in food and beverage but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Jack Klauber, Founder of Everyday Dose, located in Miami, FL, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
Everyday Dose is the healthiest, most convenient alternative to traditional coffee. We combine adaptogenic mushrooms, nootropics, and collagen with low-acidity cold brew coffee extract to create a drink that tastes just like a delicious cup of joe – but has 80% less caffeine and a diverse range of benefits.
Our customers are people who want to reduce their caffeine intake, but still want to enjoy the coffee ritual. Or people who love the taste of coffee, but not the way it makes them feel.
Tell us about yourself
I used to be addicted to Adderall for 20 years. Well, it started with Ritalin at the age of 5, then Focalin, Concerta, and then the docs landed on Adderall. A lot of it. I was very moody, had trouble sleeping, and had high blood pressure. I had a psychedelic mushroom experience, and I had the download to give it up.
So I have it up cold turkey started drinking a bunch of coffee, and that wasn't cutting it. I'd have 1-2hrs of pathetic energy compared to Adderall, and then I'd crash, or I'd drink too much, and I'd feel anxious or jittery. So I started learning about biohacking and nootropics, and I started compounding my own formulas based on the science I was reading.
What motivates me? Definitely reading all the reviews we get every day.
It goes back to helping people. I have received hundreds of emails sent directly to me saying that Everyday Dose has changed their life.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
It goes back to helping people. I have received hundreds of emails sent directly to me saying that Everyday Dose. Also, another big accomplishment has been hiring people. It's so cool to create jobs.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
You're responsible for anything and everything as a small business owner. So I'm constantly "on," but now this is now starting to change. I'm actually able to fire myself and let other people take on the work that I used to do: supply chain, logistics, and customer service, to name a few.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Be extremely smart/careful with your money because if you run out of money, it doesn't matter how amazing your business is or could be. Negotiate, always. Run it extremely lean. I lived out of my dad's garage this whole time up until Jun 2022.
- Learn how to do EVERYTHING...except maybe coding because there are so many people who can do this at a super affordable price. In the beginning, I did/still do: Branding, Web Design, Supply Chain, Product Formulation, Logistics, Customer Service, and Social Strategy.
- Stay away from agencies if you can.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about health, wellness, or business. I geek out about this stuff 24/7.
Believe in yourself. If you don't, you won't make it. You have to think your thing is going to be HUGE, and it will if you have a great product and you believe in yourself.
You're going to make a fuck ton of mistakes. That's okay. If you haven't run out of money and you're not dead, keep moving forward.
