What's your business, and who are your customers?
Everest Medical Weight Loss is a weight loss clinic that offers medical consulting and UltraSlim to help patients lose weight. Our customer base ranges from obese patients to patients looking for body sculpting.
Tell us about yourself
I am a physician that specializes in sleep and pulmonary medicine. Most of the patients I take care of, one of their main underlying issues is obesity. There were no medical options in our community for these patients. I feel we offer a great service that is definitely needed in our area.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Starting a business during COVID and keeping it open with everything going on at this time.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Taking time away from family. I’m married with four children, and having to step away from being with them is very difficult.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Identify what you offer and who you’re offering it to, then come up with an advertising plan based on that before you open. Having trustworthy employees makes things much easier as well. Make sure you are passionate about what you’re starting.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
I have a great support system, and my partner in my business is my wife. The more we have relied on each other, the better we’ve done. I’ve also had help from friends who’ve been a huge support. You can’t do this alone.
